The move to suspend Perak Menteri Besar Zambry Abdul Kadir and his six Executive Councillors by Perak DUN Speaker V.Sivakumar is tantamount to disrespecting the sultan's decision, said Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi today.

Let assembly meet to endorse suspension, says Karpal

Veteran parliamentarian Karpal Singh today said that Perak state assembly speaker V. Sivakumar should call for a seating of the assembly to endorse the decision of its committee of special privileges to suspend Perak Mentri Besar Zambry Abd Kadir and his entire exco.


Police, MACC reports against speaker
Several pro-Umno non-governmental organisations will file reports with the police and Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) against Perak DUN Speaker V Sivakumar over the suspension of the state menteri besar and six executive councillors. (Sedition Act, 'abuse of power' & 'He acted as prosecutor and judge' )



Constitutional crises in the past
Sarawak, Kelantan and Sabah have all faced a similar constitutional crisis affecting Perak today - in 1966, 1977 and 1985 respectively.
